What’s the point of working hours on creating a product only for no one to buy it? You’re trying to run a business here. It is only natural to get reward for your hard work in form income.

If you receive something in return for all your hard work, it will motivate you to do more. But just because you want to make a profit does not mean that you should create something that merits the trash.

The way you are going to get real value for the hours you put into creating a product is when you know your aim for the product.

I can’t begin to say how important mindset is when you want to do ANYTHING.

If you want to manifest something great, you must be focused and very definite in what exactly you want. All these apply when you create your products too.

No joke!

And I’m not going all woo-woo on you.

Complete focus on what you want your product to achieve will ensure that your product is successful.

For service-based entrepreneurs, like coaches, it is important to create digital products for your business. It is through your products that your audience can know you better and tap into the larger market.

You create products for various reasons. But what EXACTLY do you want your products to do for you?

What steps are you taking to ensure that the product you’re creating gets that job done?

Having a clearly defined purpose for creating your product can help make your product more successful because:

Your mind is focused on a specific outcome.

Complete focus on the objective of your product will make you work in that direction. Everything you do will be aligned to the purpose. In other words, your mindset concerning that product is wired to making it produce that outcome.

When you know where you are going, you will do everthing to make sure you get there.

You are committed to taking specific steps to make that outcome a reality.

If you know where you want to go to, the next thing is to take steps to get there. Pretty obvious.

The outcome you want to achieve requires you to do certain things that wil help you get there.

For example, you want to create a product that will be a good fit for all kinds of learners in your target audience. You have the textual learners, auditory learners and visual learners.

When you want to start creating your product you will take the necessary steps that will help these type of learners absorb your content. So you may have a video, it’s transcription and it’s audio available for each according to their learning strengths.

You know exactly where you are going.

Yes, you’re not some headless chicken moving in all sorts of direction. Your destination is defined. And all the steps you are taking are focused towards that destination only.

As you take one step after another to get to achieve the desired outcome of your product, you are creating momentum. This will fuel you to keep going.

You are not distracted by things that are not related to the product you want to create.

Look at it this way. If you know where you are going, then all the energy you put into making the trip will be directed to getting to your destination. No sidetracks. No diversions.

Many people fall out in this stage. Lack of focus gets them going in all kinds of directions.

So how is knowing what you want your product to do for you beneficial to its success?

It’s simple. Singularity of purpose.

Your clearly defined aim eliminates all the fluff. Everything you do relating to your product is focused on giving value. You’ll see yourself giving quality content and actionable steps that brings results.

The quality of your product does not only benefit your audience but also yourself. Your audience is happy because they get high quality content with results that work. And you are happy because the mechanism you put in place to give them this quality comes back to you in returns.

Take time to clearly identify the EXACT reason why you are creating your products. When you do this, just know that success is right round the corner.
